The Housekeeper's Tea Room

Summer weekends at Iford are filled with the delights of our speciality loose leaf teas, home made cakes and the tempting scent of freshly baked scones, enjoyed in the tea garden with local Jersey clotted cream and homemade jam.

Not just for garden visitors!

Whilst recommend you savour the warmth of a summer afternoon following a walk around the gardens, you could make Iford the perfect stopping-off point on a valley walk from Farleigh Hungerford Castle, Freshford or Avoncliff. The tearoom is popular with walkers, cyclists, garden visitors, local residents and canoeists too.

Refreshments are regularly arranged for groups visiting the garden, and the tea room has been used in the past for birthday tea parties. Telephone for details (01225 863146).

Local or Homemade

Where possible we use local ingredients: the Jersey clotted cream comes from Ivy House Farm and we make our Strawberry and Raspberry Jams from our own crop.

Our teas are carefully selected by our resident tea aficionado, William Cartwright-Hignett: you can buy our wide range of teas and infusions from Iford Manor Teas.

Coffee is sourced from Gillards in Bath.

A perfect re-fueling point on our walk to Avoncliff, and an especially delicious cream tea. Thank you.
