The Housekeeper's Tea Room

Summer weekends at Iford are filled with the delights of our speciality loose leaf teas, home made cakes and the tempting scent of freshly baked scones, enjoyed in the tea garden with local Jersey clotted cream and homemade jam.

Savour a summer's afternoon, after a walk around the gardens, or make Iford the perfect stopping-off point on a walk through the valley from Farleigh Hungerford Castle, Freshford or Avoncliff. The tearoom is popular with walkers, cyclists, garden visitors, local residents and even canoeists.

Refreshments are regularly arranged for groups visiting the garden, and the tea room has been used in the past for birthday tea parties.

Where possible we use local ingredients: out Jersey clotted cream comes from Ivy House Farm and we make our Strawberry Jam from our own crop - indeed in 2010, housekeeper Susan's jam won first prize in the Westwood village show.

Our teas are carefully selected by our resident tea aficionado, William Cartwright-Hignett: you can buy our wide range of teas and infusions from Iford Manor Teas, although we currently offer only eight for consumption in the tearoom - all leaf tea, of course: accept nothing less!

A perfect re-fueling point on our walk to Avoncliff, and an especially delicious cream tea. Thank you.
