Escape to the beauty and tranquillity of the Iford Valley within the Cotswolds AONB. Iford was described by Conde Nast Traveller (2022) as one of the most beautiful villages in the UK and Ireland.

This historic property, originally the mediaeval stables, was converted into a cottage around 1910. Newly refurbished, retaining many period features and with 3 en-suite bedrooms (sleeps 6), nestled in the Iford Valley it offers a true rural escape but with plenty to do nearby, just 15 minutes from Bath and less than 2 hours from London.

Benefitting from neighbouring Iford Manor Cafe & Kitchen (perfect for homemade breakfast pastries with a latte) and it’s delicious food and events, this is a rural escape with benefits.

The cottage also has its own small, south-facing garden perfect for dining al fresco, or take a glass of wine to the mediaeval bridge with Britannia and watch the heron, egrets, kingfishers and possibly our local otters & beavers if you are lucky. With 3 miles of footpaths through the Iford Manor Estate you can easily reach Westwood Manor (NT), Farleigh Castle (English Heritage), the stunning villages of Avoncliff and Freshford, or even walk as far as Bradford on Avon.

Guests benefit from access to Grade 1 listed Iford Manor Gardens each day until 4pm, as well as Iford Manor’s private walled garden with vegetable patch, cutting garden, glasshouses and more.

By car the UNESCO world heritage city of Bath is just 20 minutes away (or one stop by train from Freshford) and we are close to The Courts Garden, Lacock, Great Chalfield Manor & Garden, The American Museum & Gardens, Bowood, Longleat, Stourhead, Castle Combe and many more wonderful places to explore.

Even Stonehenge is just a 45 minute drive - so why not base yourself here for a week to explore the Cotswolds, Somerset, Wiltshire and Bath? Do click here for a list of places to visit during your stay.
